I inoculated some jars with South American and Burmese Yangoon LCs.

I know it was a noob question but I thought some other people might also be interested. It also goes to show the potential of using LC.
Kinda something around the mark of 300X the inoculant. I would have to PC day and night for a week to use all that.

I find that using a few extra cc's cauese quieker colonization, but you really have to becareful not to make your jars too wet.

Agar taught me , so if it's still the same , it's 1 level tablespoon each of Light Malt Extract and Dextrose per quart distilled water .

4 to 6 days under optimal conditions, then refrigerate to stall them.

I've seem them so thick a stir bar would not mix one.

Yes, but if you calculate your moisture content you can leave it purposely dry and add it back with LC. These are jars that had 200g of dry grain. Added 30ml of LC in each jar to bring them up to about 380-390g.

Rapid colonisation give little time for contams to get hold, you also do not have to shake your jars after the initial inoculation shake.

works for big jars too. this jar is 3.5litres

I did some grow on Rye using a pretty similar method to blackout (leave it a bit dry to add about 25ml of LC) and got some nice and fast colonization as well.

i like karo.... i have only recently done some Lc's

I CAN NOT BELIEVE how well it colonises. i love it already. i don't know if it's just a me thing or what, but i don't like the colorization of the Light Malt Extract and Dextrose. karo is nice and clear,a dn allows for great viewing of mycellium. besides it's cheap, cheap, cheap

do you think Light Malt Extract and Dextrose is better for any reason? we have a Friar Tuck in town, and i think they have these supplies for making beer. ???????
