1 quart of spore solution at a whack
    #1492086 - 04/25/03 06:14 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Sun Tea 1/2 gallon jug, spigot removed & replace with an injection port.

Filter added to the lid to allow some gas exchange, & so caps don't rot.

Simple alligator clip on a screw.

Use a fine stainless steel wire (wire fishing leader works - great). Take a pair of pliers & twist a bow tie shape on the end of a short piece of the wire.

Run wire through a shroom cap (like a needle), so it sets (facing down) on the bow tie shaped platform & simply clip the wire to the alligator clip.

Whole thing can be PC'ed. Add a few drops of "Jet Dry" to the water, pre/PC.

To tighten lid, twist jar, not lid.

One fat cap, hung in this & left 2 days will give you dark spore solution.

To make syringes, simply insert syringe needle into the injection port & suck it full.

This is where the filters on top - help. As, no vaccum is created, as you draw out the spore solution.

6T

six, your idea sounds genius.. but i cant understand something.. if you drop a caop in the jar seal it then PC it, wont you be killing everything?... including the spores you need for any time of colonization? just a question..

i know you said pre PC, but then when you remove the lid to put the cap in there wont contams get in .. perhaps doing it over an oven rack at 450 would be ideal.. but dude, this idea rocks!

Great Idea! The only problem I forsee is if this BIG ASS JAR gets contaminated the the entire solution is wasted. But if you can be streile enough it looks looks fuckn' great idea.Where did you find a solid grommet big enough to fill the bottom hole but still be soft enough to push a needle through?

does that thing really work? or is it an experiment? why don't contams get in when you put the cap in?

P.S. What's the Jet Dry for?

INJECTION PORTS = CLICK HERE

Jet Dry is a dishwasher wetting agent. You add a few drops to the water, so the spores do not clump togather.

You add water, add wetting agent & PC the jar (with lid on). Then in a glove box, or in front of a flow hood, you add the shroom cap (as sterile as it possible). Under the same CLEAN conditions, you remove the cap after a day or 3.

LOL, 100 ++  clean & viable syringes make this more that a test. It works.

Here is a one gallon model.

If ya have it togather, you can remove & replace the cap with another & another, for real DARK spore solutions.
