 Defining Aborts

What are the definative characteristics that classify a pin an abort?
Every where ive seen so far has stated that it substains from further growing or developing, This is confusing my foaf because hes noticed on some of his pins there is either greying in color of the head , or no really formed head but a greyish speck for crown , but both kinds are definatly growing and at a steady pace at that. Is this just part of the development phase ? have any of you noticed greyish pin heads that went on to become nice and healthy fruits? Thx 4 any help.L8'R

my horses cow's mushrooms heads seem to change color as they grow from pins to small shrooms but then they stay the same color untill they are ready to print

aborts are when the cap turns blueish or just dark grey-black
they then stop growing and occasionally may have fuzzy mycelial growth around the base.
aborts can be big or small but most aborts happen early in the flush when all the mushrooms are pins and primorda.
ive seen aborts several inches long tho.
they are reputed to be more potent and i must say i aggree based on experienceing stronger trips from aborts then from twice as much dried mature mushroom matter from the same casing/flush.
even so, the volume of a mature mushroom would far outweigh any potency benifit.
so yah, aborts suck, i wish that genetically mushrooms MUST grow to maturity once pinning :)
and i wish green mold would just fuck the hell off! :)

If they are still growing then they are not abhorts. Not yet anyways. But just compare all the mustrooms. You'll likely notice that a couple are way bigger than the rest. These are the ones you'll likely be getting prints from. The rest will be abhorts or very small ones. But you can't really tell for the first few days until the healthy ones distinquish themselves from the rest by thier larger growth.
