    #479273 - 12/04/01 09:48 AM (22 years, 10 months ago)

just wondering if there's anyone in wisconsin who could possibly help me find some mushrooms if its not allready too late in the year. I've been trying to order syringes for the last couple of months but none have arrived...so I've kinda fallen on hard times here. ANY help would be much appreiciated. thanks.
James

i've never heard of or seen cubes in Wisconsin, but I did indeed find azures this year while deer hunting (it was abnormally warm this season, usually they fruit a lot earlier in the year, late september or the whole month of october). Wisconsin is to much of a cold weather climate for cubes, they grow much better in the southeast, during summer I bet it's possible to find a few fruiting in a cow pasture, but doubtful I would think, the summer season isn't long enough up here. It's worth trying in late august i'd say though.

cyans and azures grow well here, I found them on the edges of a grass field bordered by a pine/oak forest mainly in oak leaves. it was in Jackson County

you must be pretty fucking ignorant to think that Azures only grow wildly in one little tiny area of the world.
the truth of the matter is if the climate is right they can grow anywhere, the climate in central wisconsin is almost identical (without the mountains) to the climate of the pacific northwest. thus they grow here very well, I found a patch of about 200 or so, most of them had rotted already but I did find a few that were pretty fresh and had fruited not that long before me stumbling across them.

so touch up on your geography a little bit there bro, Azures grow in other places than just washington and oregon.

I shouldn't have to post pictures for you to believe me..I didn't take any. oh well, they had to of been azures, they had the pointed top, same color, same body style and were damn potent, way more so than cubies...these shrooms were collected in the middle of a wilderness area where not to many people travel, I doubt they were planted there. I suspose they could of been cyans, but they resembled azures a lot more.

Constructive citicism my ass man. You need to understand that the PNW is not the only place in the world that azures grow. Believe it or not what snowboarder said about climate is true. Just because you have never found them doesn't mean it isn't true.
Now I'm not saying azures do grow in wisconson, but jesus man, try to sound older than 12 when you're telling someone you think they're wrong.

Peace out,
-Gumby
