ultra-cheap FC pics, pics and Q's

Hey all, ive made a cheap ass FC!!


holds 3 casings, not much but im preparing wbs for much larger scale.
anyway, i have one of them tropic-aires pluged into it. Pictures show the tube where fresh humid air comes out. i was woundering if i would get better results if i dumped the perlite out(should do anyway since i have the tropic aire) and put water in the bottem of it, and put the air tube under the water.

I used plain perlite and had decent results although i had smallish mushies: 2-3inches tall

You probably have way to much humidity in there. If i were you id get rid of both.

really? low RH, its at 82% and 79degrees. what should it be at.

Lookin good! I'd leave it the way it is. Your RH is a bit on the low side as far as the pinning stage goes, you could have had a better pinset with higher humidity during the pinning stage. I recommend 85-90% for casings slightly higher during pinning of course. Your perlite stabilizes the RH :wink: putting an airstone at the bottom under a bit of water will give you a PMP simply enough. GL

it is simply a 24qt sterlite storage box, with holes punched in side with hot poker-thing. then i ran the hose from the tropic aire into the FC, sealed the other holes with some tape!
