hey. my friend and i have that same thermometer......the humidity readings aren't even close to being correct.

its always between 30 and 40 %. the temp is fine though

I've got your thermometer. The wire there is so you can have the display on the outside and the sensor on the inside.

yea, that shit was confusing at first, cuz the switch to go back and forth from the wire to the unit said "in" and "out". b/c you are supposed to put the wire outside your window so you can switch it to inside and out.  but "in" the box meant "out" switch and vice versa.  i think im just retarded though.  :confused:

Hey guts i could be wrong about this but, after reading the instruction on that temp meter, i think the wire you guys are talking about only reads temp and to use the hum reading you have to use the whole unit, like i said i might be wrong but im doing some tests on it now to be sure

I too have that thermometer, and the probe on the wire is only for temerature. The whole unit must be placed in whatever you are wanting to take the humidity of. The reason that one guys friend stayed at 40 something is because he thinks the probe measures humidity too and doesnt have the while unit in the terraruim.

i have that same exact timer, humidifier AND temp gauge in my setup. I love the timer and temp gauge, but the humidifier sucked, so i got a new one.

FYI that hydrometer only reads to 95% I had the same one.

I use the same rubbermaid container, humidifier, same light setup and the temp/humdity gauge in my setup and I love them all. The only difference is that I don't have a CO2 outlet and I have a fish tank bubbler that I ran in through the side of the container and I have had great results !!!

Ok so my cat has everything up and runninga nd without his shrooms in the rubbermaid container it looks like the container is getting about a 56 % humidty reading with the temp around 78, once the shrooms are in there will that raise the humidty enough or do i need another method? BTW i run the vicks 6 times a day for ten minutes, thanks for the help

umm my cat said it did not cost that much, here is the run down he gave me:
Rubbermaid under 8 bucks
vicks 20 bucks
tubing, bolts and goop to seal stuff under 10
timer 20 bucks
light 10 bucks
temp reader 15 bucks

so all under 100 bucks and it pretry much takes care of itself, so i guess the cash is worth it.

ummm cell tech, yeah my cat likes to stay in pretty good shape

The vick guy, i found him at walmart over the summer marked down, that si the best time to pick em up is in the summer, they are always marked down.

oh and the bong, well actully it is called a ZONG and my cat got it from www.zong.com , my cat says if you are going to buy one go for the 20 incher it is worth the extra cash.

well i may have bad news after letting my casing sit with foil on for 5 days in 90+ humidty and in the dark , i remove the foil only to see a few specs of white here and there, not even 5% of the casing, what do you guys think i should do?
