Can I inject a water/nutrient mix into the reservoir in my cakes? I am interested in expanding the life and yeild of my cakes. I was thinking maybe some sterilized water/flour mixture?
Thanks

try it on a few cakes and see. i think it might gum up you resevor. cakes run out of water long befor the do food. most people don't realise how much water mushrooms need. the 1/4 cup the recipe calls for is no way near enough.

Dunking is a great tek. Four plus rather good sized flushes are easily achieved with cakes.

Try the dunk tek...works great. Thoroughly clean your cake with a sharp, sterile knife of all abhorts and fungi nubs. Place cake in one of your jars (presterilized,of course) and fill with mineral or spring water. 12 hours minimum, but I'd suggest NO MORE than 20.... Later!

Cakes can dry out pretty fast. My last batch I used a reservoir and injected water when the cakes got dry and boy did they love it. I've never tried the dunk method though...hmmm food for thought...sounds like a sure way to get enough water in the cake.

What have you guys found to be more benificial to growth promotion and fruiting cycles ,
(A) Innerresivour injections ,
(B) Dunking over night inbetween flushes,
or (C) Dunking cakes with innerresivour
Has anyone experimented with injecting different solutions to the resivour , such as nutrients or other things?
If so what and what kinds of effects did it have and show? any help/ideas on the topic is appriciated, thx .peace

dude has found that while a cake is fruiting, sometimes there are so many small shrooms going that he feels they won't be able to grow to their potential due to a lack of water. In this case he injects the cake with plain ole tap water(never had a problem using tap).
In between flushes he dunks.(again using tap)
He never followed any scientific approach to this. It just worked, so he stuck with it.
