Glass bowl casing?

Hi everyone, since I'm gonna try casing in a couple of days time, I was wondering if anyone has ever used a clear glass bowl to case?
What I mean is more like a glass ball with a hole on the top, the ones that kids to use to store gold fish before they die (read: keep them as pets).
Since I have one here, I wouldn't mind to try it out, layer of verm, crumbled cakes, other layer of verm, incubate for 2 days in the dark, and then expose to light and coldshock.
Any opinions?

You'll get pins growing under the casing. An opaque container works more better.

Put some aluminum foil in the bottom with some sterilized Perlite and you should be fine.
He's right, pins form according to light exposure. Casing bottoms need to be opaque.

just a thought but tinfoil might do a good job of reflecting light onto the sides of the casing (especially if its thicker glass), giving you more pins/mush on the edges. it may also reflect more and dry out the casing faster. those are just 2 theories; i would suggest just using something opaque in the first place.

line the inside of the bowl with tinfoil and you will be ok
