introducing strains to the wild?
    #458730 - 11/14/01 10:45 PM (21 years, 10 months ago)

i posted this over in the mushroom hunting forum, but i thought that some of the people round here might have some more/better info, because it is almost like indoor cultivation..

so the question is, is it possible to introduce a strain of mushrooms into an outdoor mushroom friendly enviroment?

the key it seems would be to get the mycelium going.. possibly by first doing it in a jar, then "planting" outdoors.. by crumbling and covering with a layer of dirt/wood chips/verm..

what are the problems with this? what would you suggest if you think there is a way it would work?
