Moving sucks
    #4579513 - 08/25/05 01:43 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

So I moved to Murfreesboro, TN from Knoxville to attend MTSU this fall. Man I hate moving. It's such a pain the ass to just box up all your shit, then drive somewhere and unpack it all, not to mention lugging furniture.  I should be used to it by now as I've moved nearly 10 times, but I lived in Knoxville for about 8 years, that being the longest out of anywhere.  I was quite comfortable there.
All my friends were there and I knew where everything was.  Now I'm here and I don't know anyone and have been all by myself. I had no cable or internet for a few days. That really sucked, I never realized how much time I spent here until I had no access to it.
But anyway I guess I'll get used to it. Once school starts I'd say I'll meet people.
End rant

So do any of you Shroomerites live around here?

I just moved myself, still settling in,. It's a tough thing to do!

I'm done with school this year so I'm gradually moving bits and pieces of stuff out so I don't have to do it all at once. All the stuff collected over the years.. memories I didn't want to remember.. thank god I'll finally be moving on.

Hehe Yeah moving does blow pretty bad, but it is cool when you get a better place.  I have to go and meet this realtor in about 45 minutes to look at this place on the other side of Birmingham. It is supposed to be a really great place. We'll see...

Murfreesboro is a cool town. I have been to a ton of shows at the Amsouth Amphitheater, in Antioch. You should like it okay. There is an awesome state park in Antioch, as well. It is called Long Hunter State Park I think. Very beautiful.

Yeah that's definitely a plus. Not to mention Nashville isn't too far away so I'll catch plenty of shows their too. I'll have to check out that park

I hear ya, I just moved as well...I'm kinda dissappointed in myself for not contemplating my choice of an apartment more...I kinda let my roomates do the choosing, I guess I deserve a slap for that.  I live in a shit neighborhood, scumbags with annoying kids living on both sides of me, and no decent places to hang out within walking distance.  On top of that, I just visited a friend who moved in a bit farther away from campus in a townhouse complex, has 2 floors and a decent basement, pays less rent, and enjoys a beautiful view of the woods off her back porch.  Me, I see crumbling houses and poorly kept lawns.  No way out either, signed a lease agreement for the year.  Ahhh...ya live and ya learn I guess.

As you continue moving down the road of life, remember this.. If you move a box of stuff or an extra fridge or something more than 2 or 3 times without opening it or using it, throw it out. You'll be suprised how much useless shit you'll accumulate over the years ...

Yeah, I wouldn't want to say either. Heh, just joking.
I lived in Farragut and then in the Cedar Bluff area for a while before moving to Murfreesboro.
