Taliban Fail Miserably
    #455852 - 11/12/01 10:12 AM (23 years, 2 months ago)

Most agree that Osama bin laden and the Taliban had a main objective to unite the arab world against the United States and start a mass holy war. Our intense bombing campaign in Afghanistan has not sparked the holy war that Laden dreamed of. And, it appears that it is not going to happen. Most Muslims are moderate and do not approve of the terrorist measures being carried.

So where does that leave this crippled enemy? The only semi-recognized Muslim extremist political force is being ousted in their only refuge. This leaves them nowhere to go and little to do. I think we'll find many last ditch terror efforts against the US mainland, but there objective is out of reach and these terror acts are all in vain.

So, by attacking the US with their acts of terror, the extremists have essentially caused their own demise. All their troubles have been for nought. A weak and pathetic enemy has once again been destroyed by the US. Instead of the US occupational forces being pulled out of Turkey and Saudi Arabia, we will now occupy land in Afghanistan. In tens years we will have bases and a pro-US government in that land, much to our benefit.

I only wonder if they regret their actions.

The Taliban ain't doing so well. Bin Laden is still at large, lots of muslims still hate us. We've given the scapegoat a good sucker punch, but I don't think we've actually hurt the terrorists.

If it was our occupation of Turkey and Saudi Arabia that caused all these extremist groups to form in the first place, don't you think that our occupation of Afganistan will breed new, even more dangerous groups in the future? We may have doused the flames but I very much doubt we put out the fire.

Well i will be the first to say that I'm extremely impressed by America's military's responce over there. However, I firmly belive that this is FAR from over.

Next, I belive that we will kill ole Bin-want-to-have-a-dickus and that will be followed by more attacks in the US.

I am truly sorry. But, since when was global politics or economic standing dependant on popularity? If you are still stuck on the some Muslims hate us thing, there is little hope for you. Some Muslims will always hate the US. They hate all capitalist countries, they just see the US as the leader of the free capitalist world and pick us out to hate the most. It's not about them hating us. Fuck, lots of people hate the French, but without funding, they are not likely to act against France. If we isolate the radicals from their money, we win. Tearing them away from their a country that they've enjoyed leadership in is a super sized bonus.

No kidding. I remember when this thing started a vast majority were saying we would be defeaed like the stupid Russians were. BOOOOOM! Where are these morons now?

Doobie, we have accomplished, for the most part, the bulk of our deed. Taliban are surendering and have lost control in much of their land and they are running out of room to hide. Non-Afghani Taliban are scared shitless because the NA will torture and kill them if they are caught. haha. But yes, we still have lots to do, like pick them a governemtn that is to our liking.

Did you hear that we let Pakistani's fighting on the side of the Taliban leave? What a bunch of fucking idiots we can be...

But at any rate, this thing isn't going to stop with Afghanistan.

I have not heard that. I have heard reports of the NA slaughtering non-Afghani Taliban fighters though.

We go to Iraq next.

I just heard on the news that the NA is promising to not kill Afghani Taliban fighters.

That's a head scratcher ain't it?

It reminds me of Braveheart when the British employed the Irish to conquer the Scottish but the Irish betrayed them and helped the Scottish.
