Why is it relevant in any way that spiritual/philosophical concepts cannot be scientifically observed, tested, proven/disproven?

Saying that science can measure the validity of spiritual ideas is like saying you can predict the weather by sending your cat outside, then observing his reactions. Meowing? 30% chance of precipitation! Runs back inside? Issue a hurricane warning! Perhaps there will be a correlation, but not a definitive conclusion.

I appreciate all the ways science CAN test, measure, evaluate, and improve our lives. I am fascinated by neuroscience and Quantum Mechanics, among other branches of science. This appreciation does not extend to believing that science is an all-purpose tool.

Cats are highly sensitive to pressure changes.  Therefore certain feline behaviors are indicative of weather patterns.

I doubt you could "use" a cat to predict the weather for the week, but I know for a fact my cat acts a certain way an hour or so before a storm front approaches.

Yes, I know, that's why I said there may be a correlation between the weather and the cat's behavior.

There are probably many correlations between what we can measure scientifically and the mysteries of spirituality.

My point is one cannot draw a definite conclusion from either method of measurement.

science is not the only way of knowing
if it were, i wouldn't be able to get to work, taking the same path every day as i do, without hypothesis or t-test

Science cannot measure or test spiritual ideas. This is why most of us who use science as our formost tester of information regard such things* as 'meaningless.'

*Things which are 'beyond the realm' of confirmation or refutation.

seriously, when i ride the train to work, that's not science.
there's no hypothesis, no peer review, no statistical tests, no experiments, i just do it.

i know the way to work, and this is non-scientific knowledge.

i love science but i actually use it in less than 1% of my daily life.
