Ambient Sitarish?
    #4491334 -

Hey guys does anyone know of a band or album that focuses on some ambient sitar type arabian/egyptian sounding music? e.g. Juno reactor - solaris style?

Muslim Gauze, perhaps? I've never heard them, but I've been told they have heavy eastern influence in their music.

If you can find the album People Turning Inwards, by a guy named Smashmethod, its got a BUNCH of sitars in it.  He has one song where theres sound effects of oceans, with sitars in the background and Timothy Leary talking on it.  Its great, the track is about 12 minutes long.  Its called Sitar Concerto in Elf minor.

I'm sharing it on soulseek.

'Ott - Somersettler' and 'Ott - Smoked Glass and Crome' both have a dubby Arabic sound to them.
