list your favorite ambient musik

Just list your taste of ambient. I'm curious if their is any similar taste among the community. There are numerous types of the musik style!!! :scaryshroom:

steve roach, brian eno, biosphere, pete namlook, bill laswell are the ones that directly come to my mind.

I have heard *alot* of ambient music, and by far
the best is ishq.

check out the albums:
orchid disc 1&2
magik square of the sun (just came out a few months ago)

go buy his cd's, fully worth it.

I dont listin to alot of ambient. Infact Im not sure if the artist I mention are classified as ambient. But its seems like they are to me.

Okay, obviosly Aphex Twins' "Selected Ambient Works"! (duh!)

Air, "Moon Safari"

Brian Eno (all I've ever heard is "Another Green World" but it's definitely good ambient)

Dust Brothers "Fight Club Soundtrack" is mindblowing!

And also "The Fifth Element Soundtrack" composed by Eric Serra is one of my all time favorite cds! Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps (seriously, i'm covered in goosebumps right now!)

can't think of much more...

Brian Eno really is the godfather here.

However my personal favorite is Fennesz

In regards to Eno...

Gotta go with 'Ambient 1: Music For Airports' myself. it holds a special place among ANY of the music in my collection, but im always impressed when i remember that this record was made just short of three DECADES ago. Its an incredibly simple, minimalistic composition, yes, even for Ambient.

Music For Airports is what plays in my candle-lit room during the late late hours of the evening, upon where the sounds transport me into another realm. its very soothing.

Coil (not all is ambient, but take a listen to Time Machines), Black Lung, C17H19NO3, Shpongle (the one track i have been able to get ahold of), Atomine Electrine, Download, Sephiroth, Desiderii Marginis, Trans PLutonian Transmissions, The Remote Viewer, Dead Voices On Air, Lab Report, Letum, Lustmord, and of course i love my own music "the phoenix Project".
