how clean should i be for agar cultivation?
    #444183 - 11/01/01 12:35 AM (23 years, 4 months ago)

hi everybody! need some help... my wookie friend wants to start working with agar but he doesn't have his lab yet, so he wonders if a glovebox (or even a clean kitchen/room/closet?) would be at least a little suitable for agar work... thanks already...

If you use peroxidated agar then you only have to be sort of clean. Just wiping down surfaces, flaming tools and washing your hands works fine.

But assuming you you are starting from spores you can NOT use peroxidated agar it will kill your spores.

You can never be to clean when it comes to agar
