Fly Agaric Cultivation?

Has anybody ever heard of Fly Agaric being cultivated in a lab environment? I know it forms a mychorrizal relationship with certain trees, and can be "cultivated" by burying ripe caps and stalks under the correct trees, but I wondered if science has developed a way of indoor cultivation yet?

heard something about success in Switzerland. But all hearsay. You could check it out.

Unlike thisone I haven't heard of anyone being succesful in the cultivation of amanita muscaria. Apart from the scientific value of such a project, I don't see the practical relevance, however. I mean, why grow amanitas when you can easily cultivate cubensis?

I don't think he was asking how to grow cubenis. He was asking if the growing amanitas was possible.

I have heard of people doing it. I think I knew someone who did it. It shouldnt be much different than P. cyan. It just needs a host plant.

for all intents and purposes, it's impossible.

A method that does SEEM to work for some mychorrizal types (tried and does work with Boletus Edulus). Collect as many caps as possible that are sporulating and soak them in a bucket of cold water. Use that water under trees you know support the type of mushroom you are trying to grow. Do this frequently. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait some more. 4 years later I had BE where there were none before. It could as easily be pure chance since they do grow around here anyway. This SEEMS to have worked in 2 areas, but again - maybe they just got there on their own, no way to tell without a genetics lab! Don't let the water set too long it will turn into a gross bacteria soup. The idea is to get as many spores loose in the water as possible then get them down to the roots of the host tree. The rest is up to nature.

Yes, I know, but I was only trying to point out that cultivating muscaria appears to be rather difficult. I Added to that the fact that most people seem to prefer the effects of cubensis rather than those of muscaria, after which I came to the conclusion that cultivating cubensis is simply more worthwile. I'm not trying to keep anyone from cultuvating amanita muscaria though, for, as I already said, it would be an interisting project. No offence meant, thisone, really

Thanks for the input guys. I am just interested to see if this would be possible that's all, I have no need to cultivate Fly Agairc as they grow in abundance here. Interesting about the bucket of water thing though... I've never heard that method before.
cheers
