I ordered a bag of fly agaric mushrooms offline and I would like to know how to prepare them and how much to dose. If anyone has used this mushroom I would really appreciate some help.

Read "amanita muscaria - a new outlook" and "amanita notes" in the amanita section of the shroomery. Both offer good info. Also check out the one by James Arthur. I know they must be dried first which is probably how you are getting them in the mail. Some people have amazing experiences with them and others have bad ones. It is said that both heaven and hell can be found in this mushroom. I have heard from some people who like them better than psilocybin mushrooms. I plan to try them out myself sometime. Let us know how it works for you.

This is not the place to post questions about your perticular situation. Fly Agaric is a very *dangerous* and *extremely* *toxic* fungus. If you are not trying to CULTIVATE this type of fungus then i suggest you post your question in another forum which maybe specific to your needs- visited by people who are knowledgible about these species. This fungus is possibly *deadly* and the experiences are quite *horrific*. This is the only reason you are able to purchase this product freely. The DEA may seem STUPID but they do know what we *may* or *mayNOT* like. ... Peace

Amanita muscaria is NOT deadly, it has been used by various cultures for thousands of years. Good luck on your voyage, and do lots of research, I wouldn't expect to get a first hand answer here.

In proper doses muscaria can be safe, but a slip up in dosage could land you in the local hospital with a failing liver in no time. A few kids from a local college thought it would be cool to go and pick some of these mushrooms from local forests and sell them to their friends, well the picked and sold them alright, and 3 people wound up in the hospital in critical condition. They are deadly if not used with EXTREME caution.
Tired of pimping yourself on the corner to afford spores? Well throw out that red dress and go to the FSR, for spores even you can afford.

Amanita muscaria is not a 'deadly' mushroom. You are thinking of it's cousins A. phalloides and A. virosa and to an extent, a few others. Someone just trying to get high may get extremely sick, delerious, even lose their mind for a while. Kind of like getting extremely drunk but maybe a bit worse depending on you and your shrooms condition. But they will recover. I have a friend who spent 3 days naked on the floor of his trailor. He thought he was a worm. He's ok now. How reliable is the source you are getting these from? They must be dried in a certain manner as the heat changes one chemical into another. This is very important that it is done right. Also, the skin of the cap is where most of the chemicals are concentrated. And they must be the right ones. Are you sure this guy knows his shrooms? His mistake could be fatal. I have been selling dried caps from the Alaskan border scince last fall and the feedback from my customers suggests 7 dried g as a first time dose. But reactions can vary amongst people and potency can vary amongst the shrooms. So do some research and think about it, it's not for everybody. Like alcohol, if abused, the consequences could be dire. I believe it was Dr. Andrew Weil who explained that those who go into the forest delibertly intending to digest magic mushrooms generally experience a pleasent intoxication. Those who inadvertently consume them while foraging for edible mushrooms invairably end up in the poison unit of the nearest hospital. The raw chemical effects of the mushrooms have not changed. What does vary is the interpetation of the intoxication and the individuals expectations of what the drug will do to him

Also I read a book about them and the Siberian raindeer herders who used them frequently. They talked about how the enjoyed the fly agaric intoxication much more than intoxication from alcohal, and they even said that the hangover isnt nearly as unpleasant.
