Best method I know is 1 mega-ton atomic bomb ( :eek:joke ):

Gnats are no JOKE. Once you have them, you are about SOL.

You can continue the grow, but they only get worse.

Sticky fly traps, electric bug zappers, diatimacious earth help.

They breed (lay eggs) in substrate (not to mention intro mucho contams), eggs hatch to larva that are like mini maggots that burrows around in substrate & tunnel into & eat inards of shrooms. Not a good thing.

start with getting your emotions in the right spot. I think sleeping with a fly swatter would be a good start

Then hit up wally-world :P

I've had those stupid little f'ers in my house for months. I just today cleaned up a couple older grows that I had going, the gnats had taken them over. I'm not going to give them anything to live in and see if they die off in a couple weeks. The lack of food and maybe a couple traps should take care of them, I hope.

If you have any potted plants in soiil around inside, that gives them enough to do their thing in, so treat any - with whatever to rid the house of the bastards.

is there anything they would choose over mushrooms? maybe if you put a tray of fruit in nearby so they go to that instead?

Nuke your whole house...j/k

I have gotten those little bastards before too.

I feel for you...summer time was the worst for me.

I threw out the casings after the flushes...cleaned everything.
Cleaned out my grown room...from top to bottom.
Then sealed off my grow room...and I haven't had that problem since.

h202 would not kill them. They arent germs or bacteria

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Pyrethin works okay and is safe for indoor/vegetable/ human consumption.
Most pesticides break down after 3-5 days. Pesticides that are safe for fruits and veggies when they are in the picking stage will work also.

Pyrethin
a relatively safe botanical poison derived from a species of chrysanthemum, it breaks down quickly in the environment. It kills by interfering with the pattern of insect nerve transmissions.

2 words that always worry me, the relatively and poison.... hearing them in the
same sentance as listed above suggests that soemthing about it is not safe.
it's been suggested that its safe for fruits and veggies because these are
things you generaly wash before eating, that doesnt normaly happen with any
mushrooom, it's normaly advised againts.

what do we know about it's carcenogenic properties, developmental or
teproductive toxicity and do we know if it's an endocrine disruptor,
from what I've read, we simply dont know yet or maybe it just hasnt
been tested
