Parents ruining kids fun!
    #4421341 -

now that im older i notice how easily a parent can ruin a kids fun, and how often it happens.

Case in point, my friend was umpiring a game today with kids probably 12 years old or younger. The one team was just gettin obliterated but you could tell the kids were having a great time regardless, just playing the game.

So my friend made an unpopular call against the losing team (it was the right call though), and a dad from the back just fucking EXPLODES. Starts yelling at my friend umpiring and then looks at me and my other friend watchin the game and says "My kid is just getting his ass kicked out there and his team is playing like garbage and its all your friends fault"

At which point a kid on the losing team was almost crying and you could see all the smiles on the kids faces, on both teams, just disappear.

fuck parents like that. Why cant they just let kids be kids? Its a fucking game!!

anyways thats my rant for the night

I hate that.  I remember back when I was younger and part of organized sports, the parents would always take everything far more serious then the kids and it would often ruin all the fun.  It sucks.

I played soccer for many years, and it just turned into too big of deal for everyone but me it seemed. That's when I decided to quit. I then started playing tennis just for fun and got so much shit from our high school soccer coach. I was glad I stopped playing soccer and started tennis. Tennis was just for fun and everyone on the team was there for just that.

this reminds me of the southpark where all the parents did was get drunk and fight at the baseball games... and the kids were like "no your gonna win, we're the worst team of all" or something like that

I find its pretty popular to bash sports parents nowadays. Lets not forget all the good parents who volunteer their time, take the kids out for pizza after, get up at 6 in the morning on the weekend for practice, and set a great example for maleable young minds and teach them so many life lessons.

To me these parents are the norm, yet they get overshadowed by a bunch of jerkoffs trying to live through their kids.

My heart and eternal thanks go out to the good parents and I wish un lubed sodomy on the parents who forget that it is about the kids.

I remember that one.  Where none of the kids want to play any longer so its really a competition in seeing who's the worst. (if that made sense to anyone else)  I love South Park.

I hope I didn't come off like I was attacking you yarrster?

The thing that makes me go off the loop is just what you said above when a parent so negatively injects themself into the situation that they just totally ruin the enjoyment and fun a kid found it the sport.

my dads a baseball coach, and he tells me about this kind of stuff happening all the time. One time two dads of opposing teams got into a fist fight at a tournement, and then their sons started fighting, which caused both of the teams to get into it, it turned into this huge brawl.

Parents were one of the big reasons I didn't further pursue my hockey career. I played AAA hockey for 7 years and was drafted into the OHL and words cannot explain how frustrated I get when I see parents interfere with minor hockey. Its pathetic, whether there bitching about their "superstar" NHL bound son not getting enough ice time or over a call they dont agree with there attitudes just ruin the game for the kids.
