Just throw another hole in the lid and put tyvek under the lid. Then you'll inject through the injection point and tyvek, then remove and no taping, but you got the other hole left for air exchange. You could also try a bandaid over the hole, but not sure which wil stand

I've been trying the no-simmer approach with rye of late.  Following agar's advice.  After it about doubles in size over around 24 hours of soaking, that seems fine.  (I have dumped out the soak water after several hours then soaked it again with fresh hot water).  Then you don't have to dry it very well before PCing.  Let it drip for an hour or so in the collander/screen and then load up your bag or jar.  Personally, I find this easier.  But I've had problems with over-saturation of grain and wetspot in the past.  So this may just be me.

they are all names of Rye grain....just named after the season that they were grown in.

You don't want...Rye grass seed.

unless you are starting a lawn...or want to grow some sclerotia.

Rye grass seed is not a Rye berry(grain).
