I believe (and the studies I have read about this subject concur) that this has more to do with men not having intimate friendships.

Most married men say that their wife is the only person they confide in, and that their friendships are more "functional" than intimate (i.e. golf buddies). When the relationship ends, women have intimate friends to turn to for support, while men try to use their functional friendships to distract themselves from their emotions.

Typically, women get together and talk EVERYTHING out, and men go out and get drunk.

IMO the high suicide rate after a breakup is a testament to the ineffectiveness of alcohol as therapy, not to the deeper love men feel.

that totally makes alot of sense. like last night i was all depressed and im with my friends and what did they do? they smoked out. i didnt cuz im tryin to get a job right now, but ya we were all depressed and talkin about shit and then there like "fuck this depressing shit lets get baked" i can always turn to them for shit and for help but its not the same as turning to my girl. the person i love most in my life and can share anything with. its just that way.
