yes it is definately a type of Bolete.
Bolete's can be difficult to identify to genus & species, in my opinion.

It closely resembles Boletus rubellus, but that species stains blue (it stains very slowly).
Describe the habitat where you found the specimens. Where do you live? were there trees in the area? what kind? how well spaced? any other fungi near by?
also, has the flesh stained blue yet? or is it still yellow? do the pores turn blue when bruised?

Well I live in NY(LI area) and theres this kind of bog/grassy swamp place by my house. It's perfect for mushrooms cause theres all kinds of trees there like pines oak etc. I want to go down there sometime but the mosquitos get really bad and I'd get eaten alive. There were trees in the area and when I went back to check out if there were more some were growing under what looked like a young oak tree. There were maybe 10 or 20 more growing but I didn't pick anymore cause I found all these maggots in the last one. I also found some more mushrooms when I went back one which I think was a russula ochroleucoide. The stem of one of them that I broke open did infact later turn a kind of blueish green color and the pores looked blue but kind of like they had a blue fungus on them. Thanks!

That pretty much confirms it as as Boletus rubellus then. They grow in your area, mycorrhizal with deciduous trees.
Its considered edible in parts of Europe, but people have reported poisoning in the US from what they believed to be Boletus rubellus. I wouldnt recommend it for consumtion either way.
