Yeah, you ain't fucking kidding me. I'm looking for a 2nd job cause I want to save up some money and this shit is killing me.

Don't get me wrong, I don't dodge responsibility, but state law here is you have to wait 7 years before you can not put that you are a felon on a job application. It's been two and a half years and no one will hire me because I have a felony for driving without a license.

That sucks. Especially considering your felony. I could understand if you had a felony conviction for something like armed robbery or rape. But it's bullshit for something like driving without a license.... :frown:

Yeah most people don't realize how easy it is to get a felony anymore.

I'm sure a lot of potential employers give a shit if you drive without a license. Just imagine how many employees you'd scare with your dangerous record. :rolleyes:

Doesn't matter dude. I get the same response everywhere. After notifying them of my felony (which I am required to by state law) they say, "Oh, well we don't h ave anytthing available right now but we will keep in touch." And then give you that look like you're a piece of shit. To them a felony is a felony. I might as well have killed someone.

But you know, I did the crime. There's no dodging that. I was a fucking idiot driver when I was younger and I pay for it every single day of my life now mainly because I have to walk everywhere I go.

However, I have learned to respect the license and will respect it when I get it back. It's definately not something to fuck around with.

Heh whenever people turn in an app where i work the first thing we do is check if they a felon. Then to availability....

I have a friend that has been driving wth out a liscense for months. He even drove to bonnaroo. I should send him this link.

Hehe....well, it's not a felony until you have a certain number of moving violations in this state anyway. Cant remember how many violations that is though.

Like I said, I was a complete idiot driver when I was younger and got caught speeding and driving without my license so many times that it eventually I lost my license and it became a felony.

I couldn't give a fuck less that I can't drive because I live close to everything that I need, but I just don't think that should ever be a felony. Especially because I have not one single thing on my criminal record that does not have to do with driving. All of it is driving stuff.

Just lie. I never admit to having a felony on any aplication. As far as i can tell, the majority of jobs don't do background checks.
It can't be against the law to lie on your job application. What state do you live in, China?

It's technically against the law, but I don't think you would ever get in trouble for it. However, practically everywhere here does do background checks, so if I lied, then I would just get fired when they found out.

Anyways, I wouldn't lie about it anyway. I'm just not that way. Even though it is a bullshit felony, if someone asks me if I am a felon, I am going to tell them yes.

Was the case withheld with conviction? was there a judgement?

minor records are a bit touchy but I get a 'flag' if I need to request special details, basically every public record for the last 20 years..

I am glad I don't have one, just many mistomeanors a bunch of B's and one class A...but a few of them can turn into a felony if it happens again...yea I am sure a felony would suck...
