Background checks and you ?

Hey guys what's up?
Do any of you know anything about how a background check is gone about? For example: if you apply at a spot say like Wal-Mart and they do a BG check, are they able to just see your charges and conviction ? Or detailed police reports of the whole fiasco ?
Let me know ASAP !
I am applying for a cog position in the angry machine.

Yes, they can find out your criminal record quite easily. It's public record. Perhaps if you lied and tell them you moved from a place you've never been before you can get by. Of course, that could go the other way and they'll refuse to hire because they found out you lied. I don't know, but I would think they wouldn't check you out all that thoroughly for a clerk position, as they usually have a hard time keeping people in those positions and they just need warm bodies to man the cash registers....

I figured that people would be able to find out by going to the clerk of courts but I mean do they go that far when your just applying for a postion like stocker or something you know ?

I can't say for certain, but I'd think they wouldn't check too hard. There's a high turnaround for positions like this, and they're always looking for people. Here's wishing good luck!

Hey PS, what's kicking in your neck of the woods? I just got back from eating some dank ass Thai food. I had chicken asparagus and Danksistah had chicken pannang. It was all real good. Also had Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Yum.
Wallyworld does a pretty thorough background check if I am not mistaken. All they need is your social security number and bam! there is your whole record on the screen. Not details or anything, but they can call to where you were arrested and obtain a copy of your file. It's that simple. Damn shame, isn't it? Your best bet is to get a job at a more noncorporate place and say no when they ask if you have been convicted of a felony. Good luck.

Whats up bliss, not much going on out here getting ready to call it a night - been working on a dumb ass web page yay. Thai food eh? Let's see I boiled skinless boneless chicken breast today and poured carb smart bbq sauce on them and ate them and they were good. as a man once told me
"hard work pays off later, laziness pays right now".
I really hope National Lampoons Vacation doesnt do that thorough of a check, I mean I aint got nothing to hide they already know Ive been to prison. I know some folks though that work down there and they got me in with an assistant manager to talk about getting a job.
it sucks because not only is Chevy Chase the biggest game in town, he's the only game in town.

I feel that! Can you move? I know it costs money, and all, but it sounds like it really sucks there. or try a construction job. Those are everywhere!!

Construction is looking like the way more and more everyday. Its been mighty cold out here these past few 4 or 5 days. I've been trying to avoid it if I can, but I'm defintely not above it - trying to wait till it's warmer
Atlanta and the surrounding areas seem to have a good amount of work. If I did move it would probably be there first. I could get a job no problem in L.A. maybe I should focus all my energy into that
-PS (and yes, it does suck here) please kill me.

There you go, man! The woods are great, but the jobs out there always suck, unless you are into manual labor.
