So many damn pins

My monkeys uncle has a cake in his terrarium dark rye flour and verm....this cake is going CRAZY with pins..there are at least 50-60 visibile pins on this one little 1/2 pint cake...will these pins mature or will they end up aborting...he is concerned because he believes there will not be enough nutrients within the cake to support the # of pins he has. Any help for this messed up monkey would be appreciated. He will also be taking a picture of it later tonight and posting it.

Some will grow up and some will abort. It's all good.
