Peyote Anyone?

Anyone know where I ca reliably obtain a Peyote button that I can grow over the next few years? I think it'd be an awsome thing to grow for a few years then enjoy my labor, thanks!

that probably is the worst place.
and a few years? more like eternity, peyote grows very very slow. if you just want to get the mescaline experience try san pedro. san pedro's grow quick and can provide you enough mescaline every 3 years.
when your living in Europe you can send me a pm, i have both peyote and san pedro's.

well, growing peyote ine the USSA is a big legal no-no...
even indians growing for NAC are hassled by busy-body LEOs & DAs sometimes...
and as for white folks, just forget it...
& most vendros will not mail live plants to united states...
crazy, usa & mexico - places where it grows naturally - both have severe laws against it..
canada, europe, australia, etc will allow folks to grow it (but most still have laws against actually ummmmmm  ingesting the plant...
that said, it is not impossible (tho' still a "gray area" at best) for usa citizens to obtain seeds for cacti in genus Lophophora, possibly including L. williamsii, if you poke around enough...

& maybe the www.erowid.org peyote vault...



hmmm... 6 clicks away from one link, & 8 clicks away on the other, & i found seeds and/or live plant sources selling quite legally - in europe, mostly...
whether any of 'em will ship to ussa may depend in  part on how, well, discrete a potential customer seems to be, mmmm?

Because our server is located in the United States we ask that you do not request for sources of peyote and/or other illegal item please. We also ask that you absolutely do not 'steal'(aka Harvest) any specimen from the wild unless you are doing so under the guidance of the huichol. If your interested in harvesting a peyote button for getting high then your in the wrong forum as here in the ethnogarden we try to treat our teacher plants and allies with complete respect.

If you are interested in studying the psychoactive components of Peyote then I recommend that you do some research on Trichocereus species like San Pedro. If you are only interested in growing this specimen there are plenty of other legal alternatives that are just as interesting. The Tarahumarans have any "Surrogate Peyotes" or "False Peyote, Peyotl, Peyotillo, Hikuli and a few other various common names" in reference to cacti species such as Ariocarpus retusus and a. fissuratus, Astrophytom asterias, Aztekium riterii as well as several more.
