saving a kit from distruction
    #4338191 - 06/26/05 12:47 AM (18 years, 9 months ago)

If I buy a mushroom kit and I let the cap open up and the spores drop on the potting soil, is there anyway that i can save the kit so it will keep producing mushrooms. I'm asking this because i heard that when the spores drop on the potting soil it acts like a contamination and it kills the kit. I wanted to know if this was true, and if it was, is there a way that i can save the kit because i payed allot of money for the damn thing and i only got like 30 grams when it said it was suppose to produce 400 grams. Please let me know if u know anything. Please!

With cakes it will stop growth is the spots the spores build up on heavely but with kits which are usually just a casing somebody else made they will be fine.

Would have been pissed if the spores stopped all growth in this case

No harm can come from questioning. "Best" case scenerio: You prove it right without relying on the fact that it is widely accepted. Argument strengthened. "Worst" case scenerio: You realize you might have been wrong. The new answer might or might not be what you want to hear, but it beats defending yourself with bullshit.
