Strange worrying dreams

ever have a dream where you cannot scream out for help, or fight back, worst bit is when i have these, i wake up, n i am PARALYZED for about 5 secs, n i am serious, my mind is there, but my body is dead, when it 1st happened i was so worried, its happened to me about 3 times now.

any one else?

Happens to me pretty frequently, and yes it is scary. The feeling is akin to claustrophobia, only you're trapped in your own body. Terrible.

I've gotten used to it though, problem is you usually don't have the presence of mind to calm yourself down while its happening. It does go away quite quickly though.

There is a group of neurons in your brain that acts as an on/off switch for mobility. When you're asleep, these neurons prevent the brain from communicating with the spinal cord in the way that allows you to move. When you have an episode of night paralysis, the trauma from the dream wakes you up immediately, faster than your brain can turn physical control back on... so you're conscious, and paralyzed. :0

ive had that too... scary

one time I was dreaming I was driving at night, when suddenly the headlights went out.  I woke up stomping my foot violently searching for the break. :shocked:

LOL, i sometimes wake my self up by kicking out, but in the dream ur kicking a football or sumin LOL!

LOL, i member when i was young, i used to trance walk, like your awake, but you duno wtf ur doing! one time i went in the living room and attempted to piss in the corner, my mum n dad stopped me ! LOL
