today a FOAF opened a jar of pan cyans (the cull strain). This jar was left undisturbed for 2-3 monthes (he said he forgot to writee the date on this one). When opened chunky stoney stuff was discovereed and recovered from the seeds. Substrate was birdseed, and temp was about 84F. Clones will be made soon. btw, thanks una for helping me put the pic in the post.

Ola'h's 1968 paper describing new (at the time) Panaeolus species mentions "Pseudosclerotii" formation in the cultured mycelium of Panaeolus (Copelandia) cambodginiensis. I also have a culture with the same properties, especially on agar. Hard distinct pellets resembling small pearls form on the agar and blue intensely when handled. I am attempting to promote larger sclerotia on rye grass seed with encouraging results. I will try to identify the Copelandia species after I have fruited it.

Well, this specie is most probably Paneolus cyanscens. This was collected in the Cull city area, in New South Wales, Australia, by an expreienced grower and shroom picker. This resembles psi tampa sclerotia in its structure and does not look like hardened mycelium. The print used to germinate this jar was later used for fruiting and gave pan cyans like fruits. My FOAF have dried the stones, and if anyone wants a piece of it, let me know. It can be rehydrated and cloned.
