vacuum cleaner filter bags for growing? chekck this out!

hi

i was mesing in my mothers locker, when i found a bag of filters for her vaccum cleaner..i become interested when i found that it filters 0,3micron..

its really thick, and its relly breathable..:) i think it can stand 120celsius too.

what do u think? is it worth a try?

its fairly cheap too

Only problem I see is that Tyvek has a plastic type coating which keeps the moisture in...those would probably dry out too quickly.

And tykek or polyfil are so easy to get... :thumbup:

tyvek / polyfil work grate because it doesn't wick.
i've used those little round band-aids for filters on grain jars, problem with that was, once wet contaminants will grow right through them.
so, if these vac bags are absorbent, it might be a prob.

I don't use tyvek in my jars.I just use polyfill or cotton at the lid of jar.Very small hole,and I kept jars in a cardbord.
I don't see too much contamination(1/10 or so).So if you can't find polyfill just use cotton but beaware cotton is organic and take care of them to be not wet and be clean.
I don't really know if it works for brf I use it in grains.

do u have a pillow??? if its not stuffed with chicken feathers then its prolly stuffed with polyfil so u can cut a small hole in ure pillow and take some of the stuffing out and use that
