By UFO's I mean flying objects in the sky that you can rule out to be planes, helicopters, meteors and other moving objects.

I saw a huge fleet of UFO's flying across the sky dropping bombs last night... I was actually terrified for a moment until I realised it was just a flock of birds illuminated by nightglow. I had just accidentally perceived the distance incorrectly and so the movement seemed alien. Yeah... I was slightly tripping at the time.
So point being, most UFO's are probably just perception "mistakes" (ha, let's not have that discussion now)

I have seen a daytime UFO - a white triangle up very high that just "disintegrated". I have no explanation - nor any need to proclaim alien visitation in lieu of ignorance.

Have you made any speculations... or researched anything that gave you any idea what to label it?... or did you even care to label it?

It was near Moffett Field Naval air base in Mt. View, CA. I watched as a Gemini-shaped craft moved across a blue sky, then simply "diasppeared" with no flash and no explosion. I had the "feeling" that it simply turned to powder. It was too fast moving to be a balloon. I was unable to come up with any explanation at all.

I saw a UFO a few years ago, while i was sleeping outside with some friends one summer night. We were all chatting and looking at the stars, and one point we see this one particular "star" that was moving around. It was just a white dot moving in all directions, in circles, and back. And then, all of a sudden it just disappeared.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Even though it was at least 5 miles away and perspectively half the size of a pea, I saw a creature with tentacles that waved out the porthole.

One time when I was younger I saw something funny in the sky at school and later that day I kept looking up and these two white dots appeared, then one flew away and dissapeared then the other one soon after. I don't know if it was anything or just my imagination, it was cool though.

I was out one night a few years ago camping with some friends in northern Florida when a roughly triangular object with brightish spots (referred to as lights by the believers in our group) came into view about 30 degrees above the horizon.
Everyone watched puzzled. There was no sound, but the outline of the UFO was triangular and everyone saw that much clearly (including me). The brightish spots (lights) would periodically dim and brighten. Speculation about aliens began flying (heheh, pun) as the object came nearly straight toward us. As the object got closer, some in our group began to get scared and one bordered on hysteria. [sigh]
Eventually, as the UFO continued its approach in eerie silence, its aspect ratio changed sufficiently to make the optical illusion of a triangle resolve into a flock of big white birds flying in the typical triangular pattern they use to efficiently follow each other. The dimming and brightening spots were the result of periodic flapping of the birds followed by gliding.
Note that EVERYONE in the group, including me, saw a clear triangular outline of a craft which turned out to be an optical illusion resulting from the brain's tendency to fill in the blanks when a piece of a pattern is missing.
Had these birds changed direction before we could identify them, I'm sure several in our group would have jumped to a wrong conclusion and sung their story of a near miss with visiting aliens for the rest of their lives.
Optical illusion: the horizontal lines in this pic are parallel::

And you will swear this next pic is an animation; it is not. It is a static image. Don't believe me? Put your finger on the screen next to one of the 'moving' parts (you'll have to enlarge to see the effect):

It's obvious humans have a great capacity for self deception. Apply this nugget of truth to UFOs and see what you come up with.

That link said ball lightening was created from the ground soil chemicals.
About 16 years ago when I live up on a hill during a wicked bad lightening storm, I saw ball lightening in my living room. It looked just like that picture only the trails went almost to the floor and ceiling and the ball hovered in the middle of the room over my coffee table. There were no burn marks in the room.
Scared the beejesses out of me as I thought we were safe indoors from lightening.
I lived on the 3rd floor as well blocked from and well above ground soil. Looks like science still doesn't understand much of how ball lightening is created, though it is a form of lightening.
That picture doesn't compare with photos people have taken of transparent light orbs when no storm activity was present. They look very different from ball lightening. They are usually only 2-6 inches in diameter and come in lots of colors and are smooth around and transparent like bubbles with no trail tails.
I haven't seen one of those, but know a lot who have in basements, my brother has pictures of dozens of these things in his neighbors basement and other friends say they see them hanging out in their gardens.
They qualify as unidentified floating objects.
I feel left out of the light orb club

well obviously you have figured out your sighting, and it was not an UFO, because in the end it was indentifiend, thus turned into an IFO
this thread is about UFO's that stayed UFO's

My point is that a UFO that was never identified Very likely has a terrestrial explanation and concluding the h-i-g-h-l-y unlikely alien slant isn't rational.
this thread is about UFO's that stayed UFO's
And as I pointed out, had those birds remained unidentified, half the group of campers I was with would have sworn up and down until they died that they saw a genuine alien ship because nothing that big, triangular, with flashing lights could possibly have flown right over our heads and not made a sound unless it was an alien ship.
Doesn't that explanation sound familiar?
