Ps Cyanescens

These are from the same spot as the stunzii. There were not as many cyans as the stunzii, i believe this is prolly because the temps are not quiet yet in the prime zone for the cyans, i am hoping the cyan output increases and judging by this cluster i would say it will.
-Cluster of cyans, quiet a nice sight

Sorry about the size of these next few pics but i wanted to get some good close ups of these cyans, they are so beautiful.....enough said.

enjoy

Oh hell yeah!!! Nice cluster cardboard!! Making me very jealous tonight :) Keep shroomin and taking pics :)

Whats your excuse, Levi7?? Cardboards out there and seems to have no problem finding magic :) He even invited you and you turned him down, see what you missed out on! I'd never pass up that chance to go picking, then again I don't live in the PNW, and I would kill to pick what cardboard did today :)

Great pickings!

Hehe, I missed out on these!
Hey, LK, I didn't turn cardboard down, though. I plan on visiting him later in the month. My vacation is from Oct 28-Nov. 5. I planned the vacation strictly for mushroom hunting and well, my wife's becoming quite educated too!
You're right I don't have any excuses, except that I haven't really looked yet. I did search an area that yeilded 137 Ps. cyanescens last year, I think Oct. 25. I didn't find any Stuntziis even until Oct. 22 of last year, so I'm just kinda waiting until then to start real hard!
I've visited a few field for libs back in late Sep., but found nothing. I need to get my ass back out there for those, man!

Cardboard: Awesome cyans, man! Those things must be freezing their asses off, being that close together!
Stay cool!-Levi7.

well well. hi there cardboard! it has been very shroomy up here. been finding lots of cyans up here and I also just found a patch of baeocystsis this morning at a new place Ive been checking out. Most of the cyans I have picked are small, too many people know my reliable patches, good thing I have a bunch of new ones. will have pics of cyans and baeos soon thanx to my digi. I still want to go hunting for some libs homie, so you should mail me back.

hey cardboard

nice find:)  i haven't had a chance to go out to the coast yet.  i am thinking this weekend..and since it is supposed to rain for the next few days, i am hoping they will pop up and give inexperienced shroom hunters a chance to find.  i have getting experience by just spore printing anything i find...but i have yet to find some magic mushies.  anyway...congratulations with your multiple finds.

Sorry cardboard but those mushrooms are Psilocybe baeocystis not Psilocybe cyanescens.

Still a good little score.

Well mymajor Psilocybe cyanescens patch has been overlayed with cedar mulch and is no good at producing so I wont be picking any thisyear. Just pelliculosus later on.

Mj, how were you able to identify those are baeos? I can understand that patch, they dont really seem like cyans but they dont look like any baeos i have ever seen. What about that bigger ones in the last pic?? their caps were way opened up and curved up in fact, i dunno. I am not really questioning you, more just trying to learn about these majestic mushrooms. These things turned a very nasty blue too, i am scared of them. Thanks

Oh yeah, I see now......on the last pic you can see the caps curving inward like baeos, and you can tell by the gills too.
Cardboard, why are you scared? The nasty blue is great! Eat up! Potent cyans and baeos sometimes turn completely blue. Or so I've heard.....I'm no expert or anything.....
Mj: why don't you just find another cyans patch. Or help me find one please....

they become weak quick. By the way they are fuiting in new grass around olym. The stunzii is a good indicator and they are fruiting by the hundreads giant cluster are just rotting as the new ones take there place.

Well having never found any baeos before it was an honest mistake. I honestly thought they were more stunzii untill further evaluation. Upon realizing they werent by any means stunzii i wrote them off of as cyans which they didnt really look like but fit them better than stunzii. Of course i will go with baeos even tho they dont have the typical really gnarly caps that i have seen in most pictures of baeos. I dunno, these mushrooms are a wide wild world.

yeah, I just figured they were funky lookin' cyans. I totally forgot about baeos actually, because I never find 'em and so I just told myself they don't exist.

Okay, this is fucking weird..........I just went out to my moldy cyans spot in search of healthy cyans expecting nothing, and I found hundreds of baeos!!! I didn't even pick all of them, there were just too many. A couple of the caps are a good 3 inches across! of course, I have no pictures so fuck but I just thought that was weird because I was just talking about not finding them. Hahaha this is crazy! I mean this is great!
