chanterelle cibarius
    #4249398 -

i wasnt sure if i should post this here or in the hunting forum but since i know what it is i figured its better off here. well on a hunting trip me and my girlfriend came across a patch of chanterelles. theyre growing fairly spread out but in large quantities in a sandy area under some oak. unfortunatly the fruits are ridden with holes from insects. from what ive researched thers practicly no way to cultivate this mushroom though ive heard its been done. do you guys know of any sound cultivation methods for chanterelles? i'd love to taste these things but i dont think i'll ever get to without eating a bunch of bugs with them.
so anyways heres a pic of one of them. fairly mature already

[EDIT: also if its possible to get it to grow on agar i'd be glad to make a few plates and make trades]

The best I have seen is at http://www-mykopat.slu.se/Newwebsite/mycorrhiza/kantarellfiler/texter/home.htm, especially http://www-mykopat.slu.se/Newwebsite/mycorrhiza/kantarellfiler/texter/thes.phtml and http://www-mykopat.slu.se/Newwebsite/mycorrhiza/kantarellfiler/texter/prod1.phtml
Simply put, it is not something you would do for a meal.

The ones you have found look pretty old; chanterelles are notorious for being bug-free otherwise!
