Ive been trying to dry out a pikel of shrroms for a couple days now...its just takin awhile (damp rid container...) They smell a little bad at this point...they are still ok right?????? Not rotten?

i had my shrooms in a container with damp-rid up unti two days ago because they weren't shriveling up. i put them in a tin with a wire mesh lid and put the fan on them and they dried to half their size overnight.
Damp-rid SUCKS!!!

Rail-guns-drying chamber is what i use now. Full credit to rail gun for posting about this.
Buy some epsom salts, any chemist has em, put in oven on high setting, RG said 400, my oven goes to 250. Bake em for 40 mins, put in container, let cool. Put Shrooms in, leave for couple of days, and are bone dry. Can reuse the epsom salts untill you die, so a major saving on decasient if you can get it.

250 is the lowest temp on my oven.

Depending on what type of conatiner (thicknes) you bake the Epsom Salt in, it could take up to 2 hours. Check the oven after about 30 minutes, you will see that the salt has started to bond together as the water is baked out of it. A hard top layer will form and a gooey center (water) will form. After all the Gooey center has been baked out. Just let it cool and break it up. It gets pretty hard (depending how thick). So you might need a hammer or plyers. Then put it in an AIR TIGHT container with your shrooms. Have a barrier (paper towel/wire mesh) between the salt and the srooms.

Isnt you oven maybe In C not F
thats why it only goes to 250
|
