epsom salts

I tried the epsom salt tek yesterday and it did some wierd shit. I put in the oven on a trey about a 1/2 inch layer and baked at 325 for an hour. When I checked on it the top had turned really white and was bubbling as if I had reached the melting point of the epsom salt. And there was a layer of liquid on the bottom that smelled odd so I put them back in the stove to cool the salt down cause I was afraid it might be a toxic liquid because it evaporated quickly alot faster then water. Was I on the right process? Also is it really necessary because they seemed to dry almost crisp overnight? Never had anything dry so fast, Im used to the 10-12 day drying for herb.

When I use Epsom Salt I had to bake it @ 400 for 1:30. What you are doing is baking the water out of the salt. It first makes a wet layer under the surface. This is the water pooling together. Then the water will boil out of the dry top layer. You can check to see if it is done, by breaking thru the top layer with a knife to check to see if all the water has baked out.

Do you live in a dry area? The reason you want to dry them quickly is so they dont rott.
