 poo/straw ratio

Basically I did...this...
-Pasturized H/poo in a crock pot for about 2-3 hours, in a shirt.
-Made me a homemade bag usilizing tyvek,silicone II and a nifty bag that Agar sent me awhile ago  , Thankx Agar 
-I put the poo in the bag...Then I added about...i donno, a handful or two of verm, I didn't want to squeeze all the water out, i wanted the verm. to suck most of it up so that My future casing would hold water better
-And then I added my Spawn, It's O/I  , My fav. so far besides Creeper...
*Note*...The Spawn I added has already undergone 1 flush....So my results probably won't be as good as they Could have been.
Ok WOW, Fuck the pictures, it took me 40mintues to resize the images and they're still not under 200kbs, oh well...I'll try again or use a server next time, well, for when the pinset comes and so on blah blah blah...

What kind of poo? If it's horse poo, I'd say go 100% poo and leave the straw out. For cow poo around 50/50 poo/straw works good. I've had problems with straw drying out and contaminating in the past so I try to avoid it whenever possible.

Hm....I've had a Big prob. w/ the green meanie, but when i spawn to straw i never see a problem w/ contams...
What nutrients does Straw add? If not much then i'll go all out with my poo (horse poo)....

I use about 60/40 poo/straw but i use cow poo. Straw must hold some pretty decent nutes because some ppl grow off of straight straw and their fruits look pretty good. Not positive though, and i doubt the nutes are as good as the ones in poo.

I used striaght straw last time and wasn't all that impressed, it gave me lots of fruits, but not huge ones that i've seen on h/poo....
I think i'll go with both
I'll do one w/ straw/poo and one with just striaght horse poopies

I've just started a horse dookie / straw grow, with only about 10% straw (Scatmanrav's substrate recipe). I also did a 100% h doo .. making it with the Roadkill meathod. The Roadkill pan colonized in 7 days exactly. The other.. with straw added is colonizing at about the same rate.
I've heard that it's pretty good to add straw to cow poo.. because their doo is a little more digested. Horse poo has a decent amount of straw lurking in it. So I'm not sure if the addition of more straw is good or not yet?? Could one balance the benefits of straw, with the additional contamination risks it poses in combination with h doo??
I hope someone can say something about that.

Hmm...I'm impressed
After thinking about it...
Straw shouldn't need to be added considering that there usually enough in the poo...
Cow poop on the other hand is digested way more, so you'd want to put more nutes in it...

i took diver's advice and now i've got a tup of spawn and h/poo (and maybe 10-15% verm) i did 6 days ago, and it looks to be about 50% colonized.
its a clear tub, which i'm going to mask off in a few more days, but i'm pretty impressed with the colonization speed @ 70* since the substrate is about 5" deep...
yay for h/poo!

Under his instruction, I taped drumsticks to his head and turned him into a sort of mummy, or perhaps a caterpiller in a cocoon. He remains this way for about three hours, making bizarre noises, pretending to be a new species that must learn to walk and talk and eat, etc. And he communicates with other life forms by way of the antennae on his head. Eventually we jam a tube from a waterbong into it's mouth and figure he's learned all he needs to know.
