Stick your nipple on the agar wedge, then ... transfer nipple to top of grain jar... shake and turn around.. jump up and down.  Then.. you've got your jar

i would say once you drop it in there to give it a good shake and let it sit on and under some of the grains. i like to leave them against the glass so you know progress when it shows. another reason for not just leaving on top is you will be getting more out of you mycellium instead of just useing one side, both will be aiding in spawn production.

I tilt the jar so the grain moves...slide the agar wedge into the spot I want...then tilt the jar back so the grain goes down on top of the wedge.
