Cardboard Tek For Beginners (For Liginous Species) Equipment: Corregated cardboard. Water. Agar with mycelium or Woodchips with mycelium or stem butts from mushroom you wish to cultivate. Oven. Sauce Pan. Jar. Rubber Maid Container, (or any container similiar) with or without lid (big enough to fit carboard). Note: If you dont have a lid for your plastic tub use a piece of material to cover top Procedure: Soak your carboard for at least 16 hours with a bit of water in your tub, when soaked heat water in a saucepan till its boiling. Place the carboard in and wait 10 minutes take it out with an object like thongs or something so you dont burn yourself. Peel off any sticky tape or any glue, when majority is off put it in a jar (folded) and place the jar within the boiling sauce pan heat for 1 hour - 2 hours, (i did mine for 1 hour and 15 minutes turned out fine). When ready scratch or peel glue off any remaining tape, take it out and put it in the tub (the tub shouldnt have water in it) place your agar wedge/colonized woodchips/stem butts into the tub and place your cardboard on top. Mist every 2-1/2 days depending on how much moisture the carboard has. When sprayed the carboard should be very moist but there shouldnt be any water at the bottom, when tilted on its side. If so, soak it up with a sponge or used syringe. The carboard should look very wet for optimum growth. Then wait until the mycelium has colonized the carboard (misting when needed, once a day or so). its ps.sub myc overall, pretty crappy tek but im a beginner so what do you expect? its just a quick run through of what i did. Hope some people can find it helpful.

i would think cardboard has nutrients, it's basically processed ground up trees. i've seen something similar on this website before, but you made it a bit easier to understand. it's basically cardboard cloning.

no flushes yet, colonizing as time proceeds. Even if carboard does have shit all nutrients im making an outdoor patch with eucalypt or pine chips, reccomendations accepted (of which chips youve had better luck with) so theyll be fruiting and colonizing more off the wood chips which have plenty of nutes.
yeah i heard of carboard teks and just did the sterilization and shit with substitutes. basically with what i had in the house (no pc etc). Myc looks fairly rhizomorphic. a bit of myc piss formed, like a drop but last time i checked there was none.

Exactly mushrooms will not fruit on cardboard STILL! (at least I've never seen it) Cardboard does have it's place as far as mycelium expansion is concerned as a prior step to chips. GL

Did i say it fruits off cardboard? sorry, i meant its going to be fruiting off of wood chips. The mycelium will be colonizing the wood chips prior to fruiting. Pinus radiata or some kind of eucalyptus chips, i dont know yet reccomendations are apreciated.

How long did it take to get to that stage, how easy is it to get the mycelium from the cardboard to grain?
Ps. Its beatuiful
