"Keyboard Curse" reaches Dark Star Orchestra
    #4095579 -

The infamous Grateful Dead "Keyboard Curse", which Pigpen, Godchaux, Mydland have fallen victim to, has reached the Dark Star Orchestra, likely the best dead coverband. Keyboardist Scott Larnard, died of heart failure.

This is preety sad news, I saw this guy and he was amazing. Bummer for the band, and to the fans as understandably so, the remaining dates of the spring tour have been cancelled.

Bummer, it always amazed me that a band could build such a successful career as a cover band, but they're a really talented group.

This is very sad news. I think they will have to search long and hard to fill his shoes.

My condolences to his friends and family.

I just can't believe this is happening. I feel so bad for the band and his family, there are no words to express my saddness. I can say that he was a great keyboard player and he brought so much joy to our family. DSO filled a very large hole in my life and soul. Thanks Scott, we will miss you dearly.

 :crying:Why does it always happen to the awesome people? I have met those guys offhand and they all were real nice people. You could close your eyes at one of their shows and really imagine the Dead licking it! This really hurts my heart. My best wishes go out to the family, friends, and devoted fans that were lucky enough to hear this keyboardist. RIP  :sun: :gd_icon:

I was supposed to go but I had to work and couldn't make it. I never have to work on Saturday but this was a really important (or at least I thought at the time) job that had to be done on time. I'll have to re-evaluate my priorities (again) 'cause I can't think of anything more important than seeing those guys. I can't fucking believe this happened!!! Why couldn't Charles Manson have a fucking heart attack? Or Osama Bin Laden? Or countless other useless fuckers that make our lives less enjoyable & miserable? I want to know!! Is that so much to ask? I've tried to keep a positive mental attitude and remain humble but I'm sick of this shit. I see good people getting fucked over every day and nasty, mean people climbing right up the corporate and political ladders. I'm getting fucking sick of it! I'm fucking mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more!  :mad2:

Its a sad day indeed, however, I don't think they will have to look to far. Rob Barraco is an awesome keyboardest. He used to play with the zen tricksters (who are great and also cover dead songs) and who has played with phil and friends

Well, after about a week off. DSO has announced that they will continue with their Spring tour, resuming May 27 in NYC.

There will be "some very special guests" filling in on keys until they find a full time player.

This is some great news. The band won't be the same...but the MUSIC will live on!

I'll be at the Electric Factory on June 4th...I can't wait!
