proof that dunk and roll works well.... and a question

These are six of my first brf cakes ever. Four of them are dunk and rolled as you can see.
It has been a bit over a week since i put them in, and the two cakes that arent dunk n rolled arent doing much of anything. Do they look fine? Any suggestions?

i believe that the rolling part of the tek is what worked, the verm hold the humidity and triggers pinning

They look fine but it looks like you have no means of humidification other then maybe misting? You should spread wet perlite at the bottom of that chamber to get your humidity to 95-99%.

With a lenghty dunk + roll, you don't need any humidification except for spraying cakes directly, and misting the walls. Major advantage there, that's why your other two aren't pinning.
Dunk + roll the others.

Well, I certainly wouldnt try fruiting cakes without 99% humidity (perlite), but I've never done a PF cake so I'd listen to others over myself, I can only offer regurgitation from others more experienced with cakes then I. This is the first I've seen someone saying cakes are fine with just misting and a dunk and roll though.

IMHO i think misting with no perlite causes people over mist and abort the babies. just my opinion though.

Haha
No of course not, perlite won't hurt. Just saying that in my experience you don't need the usual high RH requirements if cakes are dunked + rolled, they form primordia in the wet verm very easily.

Also, those cakes are pinning and they aren't even rolled that well. Imagine a 12 hour dunk w/ complete coverage of dry verm, then placed in chamber and misted.
I got rid of perlite years ago, hate the stuff. You can easily do without it.

I tried the Dunk and roll once with a few of my cakes and I got very little pins compared to my other non-dunk & roll cakes. weird? I use the perlite humdifaction tech. with a bubbler wand comming from a pump with a built-in filter (it was desgined with the filter, so no need for me to build a filter box

I really wonder about the myth that over misting causes aborts.
I have never had a problem with aborts.
I used to use perlite with bubblers in each corner of the fruiting chamber and spray the living fuck out of my cakes...with fine mist.
And this was the results.

Can someone here explain to me what the roll part of this technique is?? I have some 1st flush cases that I am about to dunk under (tap water is that ok), then place in the fridge overnight. but where does the roll part come into effect?? also after I drain the water out of these cases should I keep them in the cases or should remove them?? how can I remove all of the access water?
Thanks

In my own expierence ive found rolling in verm does not make a difference in yeild if you have 99% humidity, but dunking is critical for success with cakes. Before the first flush and inbetween the others.
