After thinking the whispy, white looking stuff in my jars was the start of some aggressive mycellium growth (spotted a little over 2 1/2 days after innoculation) I discoverd today that it was both cobweb mold and green mold. First, I thought it might be the syringe I got from *vendor removed* since every jar had the same thing and then I thought it might have been because I didnt wash the jars when I bought them. The syringe was EQ and luckly I have a EQ print from the FSR handy which was made by the sporechicks so I think it is going to be a large, dank, sterile print. Tonight I spent a good time preparing a small babyfood jar with sterile water and three previously used syringe are boiling on the stove. I am going to attempt my second try at making my own syringe, and, hopefull succeed where I failed last time. Anybody got some tips or tricks or just want to wish me some good luck, please reply. Thank-You! I'll never give up! Also, I am going to make two test jars per the 3 syringe (6 jars in total) to see if they are sterile syringe so I dont rush ahead and make 12 contaminated jars again! Good idea?

(sorry ralphster) order syringes from the sporelab, i order from max and i have had 0 contamination every time

No, syringes were from *vendor removed* but I dont belive they were the culprite. We did 3/$25 and my friend successfully fruited 2 of the syringes.

First of all do you have a PC? If you don't then that was possibly the source of your problem.
Secondly how did you let them cool? If they are cooled in anything less then a sealed pot then you are inviting problems because as the jar cools it sucks in the air in the room along with anything that happens to be floating there.

I dont think many of you can read all too well. The sporeprint if from the FSR but it was one of the sporechicks prints (it says so). No, I steamed for 1hour, like I said, and let cool in the pot. I then innoculated via strict sterile methods. Who knows where I went wrong, but i'm not all that worried. So what, im a few days behind, oh no lets cry about it!!! :)

Ralpshter, im sorry to say it, I know it had noting to do with you, but the print sucked. s-u-c-k-e-d. It was small, light, and stuck to the fucking paper! Its all good, I got some new syringes coming in a week or so. I'll never, never give up!

thats awesome advice..i never thought about that factor or heard it mentioned before..thanks!

Ralphster44, once again, thanks for being so cool. I'm not too pissed off about my loss. I got 5 syringes of various strains coming to me in about a week so I plan to build a incubation chamber in my spare time. Oh yea, and i'll be asking a lot of questions here -- be prepared -=]

Hmm, i never let my jars cool in the pot. I never thought about them sucking in the air as the cool, i just wanted to innoc ASPA :). I dont have to many contam problems but a few.
