thanks.

80-85 for incubation

70-75 for fruiting

86 is the peak for P.Cube for incubation.

thank you
keep getting conflicting numbers for fruiting, one source says 74-78, another says 70-80, blah blah
incubation should take place in a dark place correct?

Yes, expose them to light as little as possible. 70-80 will work for fruiting, but its best to keep it the low 70s.

im testing my fruiting chamber at the moment. i cant seem to get the desired temperature/humidity levels. the temperature is either too high(80-85F) or the humidity is too low. was testing out a TiT fruiting chamber but the temperatures got too high(87-95) and the humidity was too low (75-85). i took the main tub out of the water heated tub and let it sit, the humidity raised (91+, hygrometer doesnt go to 100, just says hi once it gets to 91%+) but the temperature is sitting stable around 80-85F still.

any suggestions?

I have not used an 'incubation chamber' in several years. If you maintain your house at normal indoor temperatures, your projects will do just fine. There is certainly no need to incubate jars over 80F, and to do so raises contaminant risks considerably. The inside of your jars will be 3 to 4 degrees warmer than the surrounding air. If you heat a chamber up to 86, your jars will be near 90, and much more likely to contaminate.

I colonize on a bookshelf in a spare bedroom, and no attempt is taken to prevent the jars from receiving normal room lighting. I then fruit in a small greenhouse type enclosure with no heat applied during the growing process. If it's deep winter and your room is a bit cold, run a small space heater to heat the entire room to 75 or so. That temperature will work just fine for colonization, as well as fruiting. There's no need to make growing any harder than it already is. Keep it simple.

thanks for the reply. the room temperature varies a great deal (between 65-80F). sadly this is the only room i have available for this project.

my fruiting chamber has been sitting stable at 75F for nearly 24 hours. the humidity is 91%+, my digital thermo/hygro simply reads ~HI~ when the rH goes above 90% so im unsure if its in the 95-100 range.

i planned on keeping the incubation temperature between 75-80 since the jars generate heat.
