i don't have access to a stove or preasure cooker so i was wondering how well puting the jars in the microwave w/ plastic wrap on top would do for sterilization? does anyone have experience with this?

You will get some nice contams. Dont have access to even a pot and stove to boil?? Make a fire and boil yer jars ehehe.

well i do have access to a stove, but don't have a pot... maybe in a few days i will. i'll just wait til then i suppose.

I have successfully done 1/2 pint jars from the microwave (substrate was Verm and BRF with a 3/4" topping of dry verm). I used plastic wrap over the jars/substrate and put it on high for 8 Min. I then waited 4 hours for the jars to cool. Then boiled the lids (you will need a pot for this). I then brought the pot with the lids in it and transfered the jars over to my oven (using the oven tek) to secure the lids and innoculate the jars.
