Retiring 90% of the jars?
    #3984179 -

It?s hard to change from old school to new (when you are Old School). But, 90% of my jars are now relegated to jam.

Glass cracks, chips, breaks & you have to clean them out, then wash them over & over & over - again. New generation autoclaveable bag neck (double filter) & 1000 big spawn or substrate bags.

PLEASE start marketing those necks SOON!

Just cleaned 25 odd jars tonight...bitched and moaned the whole time.

Where to find nice quality PP (autoclaveable) bags in bulk?

I asked about them bags too..he just told me theyre 175 per thousand...I'm still interested in where to get them though.

Are PP bags reusable? (I've never worked with 'em)

But at ~$175 for 1000, I guess it wouldn't matter much.

I'm definitely interested in hearing about those neck/filter devices you've constructed there! Please tell!

I'm pretty sure they'd be reusable....I've even reused oven bags in a bind.

I'm sure those are better quality than oven bags. But like you said for 17 cents a piece.... might as well throw em out.

Now that I know how reasonable they are in bulk....I REALLY want to know where they're from.

Well, ya go to an injection mold making company - with a Cad plan in hand. Then get shocked at how much just the molds cost to have engineered & made (check on/line).

Then, (if you can afford it) have prototype molds made. Then take molds to fabricating company & get shocked again. Because of initial set/up costs. Then decide how many thousand you want made on a production run (if you can afford set/up costs).

Once "set/up" is done & large production run begins - per piece price is pretty cheap.
