mmmm, i say you can experience ego-loss with any amount of mushrooms, or none at all. the more you take, the harder it is to ignore the mass of thoughts consuming you. but you can take 1 gram and experience ego loss if you sit and meditate, or you can sit and meditate and experience ego-loss without the mushrooms and never need them again (although that doesn't mean you wouldn't eat them again :-))

mmm, Grizzy, while that sounds paradoxical, I do think it makes sense. I would assume that "yourself" is an extension of you perhaps, that can be momentarily (permanently) released. Yourself could come to mean wordly desires (non-spiritual) (among other things?), and the state of perception that we live in day to day.

You don't need mushrooms for ego-loss. In fact, I have found ego-loss without mushrooms to be more pleasant than with, if only because eventually I lost grasp and understanding of that ego-loss. It's like taking a shortcut, but there's no alternative for hard work and dedication. But I still like mushrooms =)
