I have been interested in San Perdro for some time now, and have decided to find one. I have read of someon finding one at home depot, but i don't know the type of name of San Pedro?! What name is most common and active? Am i wasting my time at home depot or will they maybe have it?

Not too sure about that...some places label ALL of their columnar cacti as "candle cactus".

Anyway, the botanical name for San Pedro is Trichocereus pachanoi...there's only one or two lookalikes out there, so once your semi-familiar with it, its a piece of piss to ID.

San Pedro is good, but Trichocereous Peruvianus is better.
I cultivate both, and to my experience the Peruvianus is
about 1.5-2 times more potent than the Pachanoi. They
grow at approximately the same rate. Just my two cents
though!

there's plenty of cactus nurserys that sell online, homedepot is not recomendable, unless you know what to look for....
