my friend died tonight.
    #3721781 -

I just got the call. I don't know what to feel. Maybe it will become more "real" when I go to the funeral. this is the first person i've been close to who has died. I'm just really not sure what to feel.

A very close person to me died on the 29th. It still hasn't really set in... We can cry together, Ellemy.

Welcome to shock.
It takes a while to wear off.

I'm sorry, losing a loved one is a horrible experience.

thanks.  I mean...I knew she was in bad shape.  she had lung cancer and was in the hospital for awhile.  it feels weird to say "was" and "had" instead of 'is'.  I don't know.  I mean...I only feel...empty.

thanks guys.

Cancer seems to take all the good ones...  Inoperable brain tumor on my friend.

Stay smilin' because that is what they would want you to do...  or that is what I keep telling myself.  Mayhap it will work for you, too

Im so sorry to hear that. Losing people close to you just makes you feel things you can't explain. I hope you have people who can be there for you and give all the love in the world to that friends family.

Yeah...it's just really...odd. that's the only way to describe it. My memory of her is the only thing that exists of her now. it's just weird.

Are you a container?

I've never dealt with this but a friend who has says this sentence from a teacher helped her when she said she was empty. But I dunno, just trying to help but I feel ignorant on this subject :frown:

well you know...I know that everyone has their own way of dealing with death.  But.  You'd think I'd feel something.  Maybe it's just shock, like Randolph Carter said.  It's just so fucking weird.  We're here one instant and then we're gone the next. Leaving everything and everyone behind.  This is my first experience with death of a loved one.  It's just too fucking weird.  It makes me wonder about a lot of things.

anyway.  thanks for listening, guys.  :frown:

Toutes mes condol?ances, Ellemy... Le passage d'un ?tre cher vers l'autre monde peut te parra?tre triste et difficile... Mais tant que ses souvenirs resteront en-dedans des personnes qu'elle aimait, elle sera toujours vivante.. Pour l'?ternit?...

Just thought I'd give you some french... It's not easy losing a friend, maybe the sweetness of the french language will alleviate your thoughts...

i'm so sorry, one of my best friends just died a couple weeks ago from a heroin overdose, i know what you are saying.  When it happened, i felt stunned and sort of empty and it was hard to really know why i wasnt feeling anything at first

the emotions came later on

i still have trouble fully accepting that he's gone though

so sorry for your loss

 may the love of everyone she's touched guide her back home

When your dealing with a death it can seam complety sureal.  It's like having an emotional overload and your lost with nothing because it all seems to strange.  Your feelings will catch up with you if you don't let yourself let go and feel all the awful things that you should feel.  Once again im so sorry because I know what it's like to lose somebody close.

I know youl get down this road of thorns and be ok, it will be hard and strange, but it's one me all must face sometime in our lives.

A good friend of mine died my sophomore year in a quad accident. I went through the same thing. When I got the news, I wasn't really phased. I was just like "Wha...hes dea-...what?" A few days later I was at school and it really hit me, and I ended up going home. Life sucks sometimes, but you'll see her again someday. Maybe during a trip

I'm sorry for your loss. I dedicate this bowl of blueberry I was about to burn to her memory :sun:

thats really too bad.  hope her family/friends and you are going to be ok.  never fun dealing with that sor tof thing.  but its part fo the circle and life will go on.

emptyness is jsut one way of dealing with it...i am oftent eh smae way.  not everyone cries and goes through months of hell.  its a differnt way to deal with things, but that doesnt change much :frown:
