mycelium inoculation question
    #369298 - 08/09/01 02:09 PM (23 years, 1 month ago)

If I used fluffy, cottony looking mycelium as apposed to mycelium that displayed more rhizomorphic characteristics would it work as well for colonizing new jars of substrate? The fluffy mycelium would be coming from overlay forming on the top layer in a cased grow chamber. Thanks in advance.

You need to take mycelia from an invitro source. (the jar) Your chances of taking a clean inoculate from a casing surface is next to nothing. Other than that, yes the cottony can switch back to rhizomorphic.

Thanks for the advice. I'm glad I asked before I just did it like I was just about to and grown a bunch of jars of nasty green slime.
