Hello, I am newly registered (lurking abuut 2mos.) and I posted this on the other grow bb, but no one seems to be responding. I have read that shroomies lose potency after about three generations out of the wild. Is this true? If it is than that means that I will always be at the mercy of obtaining spores from someone I dont know, right? I could stall this a little by making as many spore prints as possible, I know, but that would not last forever. Any insights?

Also, when I first recieved my spore syringes, I kept them at room temperature for a couple weeks, and inocculated a couple of batches. Then I read that they would keep longer in the frig., so in the syringes went. My first two batches have colonized like wildfire, and now I'm wondering if keeping the syringes in the fridge might put them into hibernation, so to speak, and make them slower to colonize. Should I take out a syringe 4-5 days before inocculation, or what? Am I hurting the spores by moving them in and out of the frige? Sorry about the multiple posts but maybe this question should have been posted here first. Thanx

this is adv. cultivation, so this post doesn't belong here. try to post next time in general questions.
shrooms grown from collected spores don't loose potency. so to answer your question.. no.
second answer...no...you can take your syringes off the fridge right now before inoculating.
third answer...no..it don't hurt spores
