Newbie Casings Question

Im just wondering when to "birth" the casing, i have a casing now and when you look at it it doesnt look like theres signs of anything poking through but if you look closely you can see strainds of mycelium poppong through everywhere, but there are just like single strainds evrywhere its not solid or anything. should i birth now or wait till solid patches show up?
